The waters around Mazatlan have long been considered one of the great fishing areas in mainland Mexico. With approximately 10,000 sailfish and marlin brought in annually, Sport Fishing Magazine named Mazatlan one of the top 20 sport fishing destinations in the world. Sinaloa Sport Fishing (SSF) is located just over 1 hour north of Mazatlan, in the small fishing village of Barras de Piaxtla. This puts us right in the middle of some of the riches fishing waters in the world.
The virtually un-fished waters off Barres de Piaxtla offer fantastic fishing grounds for Dorado, Red Snapper, Yellowfin, Sailfish, Marlin, Roosterfish, Corbina, Robala, Toro and other species. SSF is the only sport fishing operation in the area so there is little if any fishing pressure. Plus, we are so close to the fishing grounds seldom does it take more then 30-40 minutes before your line will be tight.
